Job summary

FDH Electronics, Inc. is seeking a Field Application Engineer to blend hands‑on electronics expertise with sales to grow business across aerospace and defense customers.

You will engage directly with customers to design, demonstrate, and deliver tailored FDH solutions, traveling to sites as needed. The role requires strong technical and commercial acumen, with experience in cable harness assemblies, cost analysis, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field is preferred.
• 5+ years in technical sales or field applications engineering in electronics/aerospace/defense.
• Experience with cable harness assemblies and high‑reliability interconnects is highly preferred.
• Strong problem solving and customer facing skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical liaison for customers, conducting on‑site visits, product demonstrations, design reviews, and application support.
• Collaborate with engineering to troubleshoot issues, support design‑ins, and integration of components.
• Identify and close new business by developing proposals and negotiating contracts.
• Promote FDH Electronics' value‑added programs to enhance reliability and partnerships.
• Develop strategic plans for assigned accounts and drive revenue growth.
• Ensure on‑time delivery by coordinating with supply chain and operations.
• Prepare cost estimates, pricing proposals, and profitability assessments.
• Create customized quotes and presentations; attend industry events to generate leads.
• Foster long‑term customer relationships and monitor market trends with internal teams.
• Work cross‑functionally with sales, engineering, procurement, and QA.
