Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an Engines Manufacturing Engineer to lead development of BE-3U combustion device processes from design to production in Huntsville, AL. The role supports integration of design requirements into manufacturing methods and tooling, ensuring compliant, high-quality aerospace hardware.

You will work on translating engineering intent to hardware, maintain work instructions, perform root-cause analysis, and drive continuous improvements while aligning with AS9100 and ISO 9001

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
• 3+ years direct manufacturing and manufacturing engineering experience.
• Extensive prior experience in high-rate assembly lines for aerospace and/or automotive is preferred.
• Understanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing including GD&T.
• Strong written, personal, technical, and software skills (CAD, Scheduling, Issue Tracking, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc).
• Ability to develop English work instructions for technicians and inspectors.
• Ability to develop processes compliant to industry quality systems such as AS9100.
• Must be able to work weekends and have flexibility to move shifts as needed on occasion.
• Must be able to work weekday day shift for training before transitioning to Weekday nights. Open to work extended hours if required.

Responsibilities

• Translate engineering intent, drawings, and configurations into fully functional hardware.
• Support the manufacturing floor in assembly and integration, ensuring compliance with engineering requirements, discrepancy resolution, and component acceptance testing.
• Perform in a hands-on engineering role and serve as a liaison between design, test, manufacturing, and operations.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing work instructions for receiving inspection, fabrication, assembly, integration, test, and refurbishment.
• Dispostion and investigate root causes of discrepancies; implement preventative/corrective actions.
• Create in-build redlines and recommend engineering changes to improve design.
• Troubleshoot and operate equipment as required.
• Perform engineering drawing review and provide final approval for manufacturing.
• Conduct FMEA studies to strengthen feedback between design, build, and test.
• Drive DFMA across the product life cycle and drive continuous improvements.
• Ensure all work aligns with quality and safety standards (AS9100, ISO 9001).
