Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Propulsion Engineer III to support BE-3U engine hardware design, analysis, and testing across the development and production life cycle in Renton, WA or Huntsville, AL.

You will coordinate with a multidisciplinary team to develop test plans, perform steady‑state and transient analyses, support engine testing, analyze data, and drive design and test cadence improvements while upholding safety and quality.

Qualifications

• B.S. in aerospace/mechanical engineering or physics.
• 5+ years of propulsion design, analysis, or test experience.
• Strong fundamentals in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and structures.
• Data analysis and data processing experience, including Python scripting.
• Knowledge of propulsion components and instrumentation.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering standards and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Support design, analysis, and test of BE-3U engine hardware and fluid systems across development and production life cycle.
• Coordinate with a multidisciplinary team to develop test plans and perform system analyses.
• Support component and system testing, analyze test data, and drive corrective actions and hardware improvements.
