Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation is seeking an Engineering Manager II to lead a multi-disciplinary team in a hybrid office environment in the United States. The role emphasizes advanced technical leadership, risk assessment, and aligning engineering efforts with program goals.

You will mentor engineers, manage schedules and budgets, and drive innovative technical solutions while ensuring compliance with standards and DoD-related requirements. A Secret clearance is required for employment consideration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s of Science degree in a related discipline
• Typically, 8+ years of progressive engineering experience, which includes 4+ years of management experience.
• Thorough Understanding of engineering principles and practices
• Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools, analysis and simulation
• Ability to work in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
• Preferred: prior management experience; exposure to recruiting employees; assigning, directing, and evaluating their work; and overseeing the development and maintenance of staff competence

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a multi-disciplinary engineering team to achieve project milestones.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely delivery of engineering products.
• Monitor and control project costs to stay within budget.
• Drive the development and implementation of technical solutions to complex engineering challenges.
• Ensure all engineering activities comply with applicable standards and regulations.
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.
• Mentor and develop engineering staff, promoting continuous improvement and professional growth.
• Present project updates and technical data to senior management and stakeholders.
