Job summary

Consolidated Precision Products Eastlake is seeking an Engineering Co-Op to support New Product Development and Production Engineering efforts for aerospace investment casting. You will collaborate with manufacturing to develop robust processes and tooling and gain hands-on experience with dies, gages, and CAD models.

The role emphasizes problem solving, process improvement, and data analysis (PDCA, Six Sigma).

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS in Engineering; junior or senior year preferred.
• Familiarity with CAD (NX) and tooling design.
• Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing principles.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Motivated with data-driven problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Develop and teach best practice investment casting procedures.
• Construct dies, gages, and support tooling for cores, wax patterns, castings.
• Interface with tooling vendors and CPP purchasing to ensure quality tooling at a competitive price.
• Identify process yields using statistical, DOE, and Six Sigma methods to uncover variables.
• Interpret GD&T, customer drawings, CAD/NX models, and layout reports.
• Document work procedures and collaborate with other departments.
• Identify, evaluate and implement new process technologies.
• Communicate with tooling vendors for wax pattern die rework and fixture builds.
• Routinely audit production lots for repeatability.
