Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in Palmdale, CA seeks an Aeronautical Engineer to support the B2 Subsystems team. The role covers electrical, mechanical and hydraulic design tasks across aircraft subsystems and integration efforts.

The candidate will contribute to system-level development, testing and verification, while aligning with program goals and funding constraints. A Secret clearance is required to start.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in STEM and minimum 2 years of aerospace structural design experience OR MS in STEM with 0 years of related experience.
• Strong analytical skills and track record of complex problem solving.
• Experience in electrical and mechanical design.
• Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. government Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical wiring designs for functional system, selecting conductors and electro-mechanical components.
• Support design requirements for power generation, conversion and distribution systems and related analyses.
• Manage system-level design, trade studies, layouts, architecture definition, verification, and troubleshooting.
• Act as technical point of contact with suppliers for hardware development, qualification and procurement.
• Plan and execute system-level tests, data processing and issue resolution.
• Create hydraulic and electrical schematics for functional systems.
