Job summary
Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Engineer or Principal Engineer - Subsystems Electrical to join our team in Palmdale, CA; or Oklahoma City, OK. The Electrical Engineer will work on aircraft subsystem development, including electrical design, architecture, power generation, distribution and troubleshooting.
The role involves developing wiring designs, participating in trade studies, and coordinating with suppliers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in STEM and 2 years of aerospace structural design experience.
- Experience in electrical design of air vehicle systems.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret clearance and SAP clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in STEM with 5+ years of aerospace structural design OR Master’s degree with 3 years OR PhD with 1 year.
Responsibilities
- Develop electrical wiring designs for functional systems including conductors and components.
- Support design requirements for electrical power generation, conversion and distribution systems.
- Responsible for system/component design and development including trade studies, layouts, architecture definition, testing and troubleshooting.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and act as technical point of contact with suppliers for hardware development and procurement.
- Plan, execute and support system-level tests and data processing.
- Perform system-level evaluations to verify requirements and airworthiness criteria.
