Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for the Flight Systems Engineering and Integration team in Utah. You will define mechanical interface controls, release drawings, and coordinate solutions with cross-functional teams while presenting designs to customers.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, 2+ years of relevant experience, and an active Secret clearance with SAP eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM field.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Active Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
• Experience performing CAD modeling with design tools such as Siemens NX or similar.
• Experience performing mechanical design efforts on MILCON, major infrastructure/building projects, or Aerospace and Defense programs.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of tools - Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word
• Ability to understand and interpret requirements.

Responsibilities

• Define mechanical interface controls and release integration drawings.
• Coordinate design solutions with Flight Systems product teams.
• Develop the mechanical interface baseline and present designs to customers.
• Ensure attention to detail and strong interpersonal communication is maintained.
• Collaborate across teams to support MILCON and aerospace/defense projects.
