Astronics Advanced Electrical Systems (AES) in Kirkland, WA is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to contribute to embedded software development within the Cabin Electronics Product Group.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university program with at least three years of coursework completed by Summer 2027.
• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field with embedded systems focus.
• Experience with C, C++, C# or Python and with the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded software and tools in compliance with DO-178C processes.
• Develop and maintain documentation in DO-178C compliant format.
• Develop and maintain software tools used by customers, engineering and manufacturing.
• Assist in investigating and resolving software/hardware integration issues.
• Build hands-on lab skills through activities such as microcontroller board bring-up, debugging, and troubleshooting.
