Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain low-level embedded software for mission systems in aviation, space, and defense. You will work with hardware platforms and avionics subsystems, implementing C/C++ features in safety-critical contexts and supporting DO-178B/C certification activities.

The role involves rigorous debugging, integration, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field.
• Minimum 1 year of embedded software development experience.
• Minimum 1 year of low-level embedded software development.
• Minimum 1 year of C/C++ development.
• Experience with safety-critical software (DAL A or B).
• Experience with DO-178B/C standards.
• Experience performing software integration and debugging.
• Experience with hardware interfaces and embedded systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain low-level embedded software for mission systems.
• Interface with hardware platforms and avionics subsystems.
• Support software integration, bring-up, and issue resolution.
• Debug and diagnose defects and performance issues.
• Collaborate with systems, hardware, and test engineering teams.
• Analyze requirements and decompose system/software requirements.
• Implement C/C++ features per project and industry standards.
• Support verification, validation, and documentation of results.
• Contribute to DO-178B/DO-178C certification activities.
• Troubleshoot hardware/software integration across the lifecycle.
