Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Embedded C++ Software Engineer for avionics display systems. The role covers designing, developing, and verifying embedded software in a DO-178C framework, with hybrid remote and on-site collaboration in Phoenix and Cedar Rapids engagements.

You will work across the full software lifecycle, generate low-level requirements, perform integration, and support certification activities for safety-critical display platforms.

Qualifications

• Embedded C++ development for avionics or safety‑critical software.
• Experience supporting DO‑178C programs and DO‑178C processes.
• Experience with DAL A/B safety‑critical software programs.
• Strong ability to develop and verify low‑level requirements.
• Hands-on unit testing and software verification experience.
• Experience with software integration across display systems.
• Willingness to travel onsite to Cedar Rapids, IA as required.
• Eligibility for U.S. aerospace programs requiring U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and verify embedded software for avionics display systems using Embedded C++.
• Generate and review low‑level software requirements aligned with certification needs.
• Perform software integration across display applications and system-level requirements.
• Conduct unit testing and verification to meet DO‑178C requirements.
• Support DO‑178C certification processes and related documentation.
• Collaborate with systems, software, hardware, and test engineers through the lifecycle.
• Troubleshoot issues during integration and testing on lab hardware and real hardware.
