Job summary
Actalent is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design and develop flight software for spacecraft. The role involves working with hardware interfaces for UART, MIL-STD-1553, SPACEWIRE, SPI, and integration with simulation and hardware-in-the-loop platforms.
The position can be intermediate (Level 3) or senior (Level 4) based on experience. You will collaborate with systems, hardware, and software teams, develop BSPs, and optimize performance while documenting analyses and test results for
Qualifications
- Requires STEM degree with relevant embedded flight software experience.
- Experience with hardware interfaces and simulation/HIL platforms.
- Security clearance is preferred/required as applicable.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop embedded software interfacing with hardware protocols.
- Collaborate to define flight software requirements and verification plans.
- Develop and maintain BSPs and device drivers for embedded platforms.
- Perform trade studies using simulations and development boards.
- Integrate spacecraft components with simulation platforms and HIL.
- Analyze resources to optimize embedded software performance.
- Document designs, analyses, and test results for stakeholders.
- Diagnose issues during installation, integration, and testing.
