Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and integrate software for aircraft and test systems. You will work in a small, collaborative engineering team to support flight tests and high-fidelity simulations.

The role requires 5+ years in embedded software, strong C++, and experience with Linux and model-based design tools such as Simulink. You will create design docs and ensure compliance with system and customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, CS or related field.
• 5+ years of embedded software development experience.
• Strong C++ proficiency for embedded software.
• Experience with aerospace/defense software applications.
• Experience with Linux in embedded contexts.
• Simulink or MB design tools for control systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop software for aircraft and test systems.
• Integrate and test software on aircraft platforms and in high‑fidelity simulations.
• Support flight test activities with deployment and troubleshooting.
• Create clear design documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
• Adhere to the established software development process for quality.
• Develop and execute software test plans to verify system requirements.
• Collaborate with other engineers in a small team and contribute to process improvement.
