Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Principal Embedded Software Engineer to advance aerospace control software, including low-level embedded systems, BSPs and RTOS integration for multicore ARM platforms. The role emphasizes processor bring-up, hardware enablement and safety-critical verification.

You will collaborate with systems, hardware, FPGA and controls teams across the product lifecycle in Endicott, NY, in a contract-based environment with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
• Extensive experience with low-level embedded software in C/C++.
• Experience with bare-metal development and bootloaders/BSPs.
• RTOS experience and multicore/ARM-based systems.
• Strong hardware/software interaction and processor-level debugging.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and integrate low-level embedded software for aerospace control systems.
• Develop bare-metal software, bootloaders, BSPs and processor init routines.
• Perform processor bring-up and hardware enablement for multicore ARM SoCs.
• Configure and optimize SMP/MCP frameworks and RTOS integration.
• Develop testing environments and verification methodologies for safety-critical systems.
• Collaborate with systems, hardware, FPGA and controls engineering across the lifecycle.
