Job summary

Actalent is seeking a hands-on Firmware Engineer to develop low-level embedded software for aerospace and spaceflight systems. You will work close to hardware, crafting bare-metal and RTOS firmware for microcontrollers, sensors, and custom electronics in a highly collaborative onsite environment.

The role emphasizes firmware architecture, board bring-up, real-time performance, and rigorous verification, with exposure to AXI, DMA, and high-speed interfaces in mission-critical hardware.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
• 3+ years of professional firmware development experience in embedded systems.
• Experience with RTOS-based development and hardware bring-up on custom hardware.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for microcontroller- and SoC-based systems.
• Create low-level drivers and middleware for sensors, actuators, and hardware platforms.
• Develop firmware using C, Embedded C, and modern C++ in resource-constrained environments.
