Job summary

Lockheed Martin is seeking a Safety Lead for the F-35 program at Edwards Air Force Base in California. The role focuses on interpreting and implementing environmental, health and safety regulations, and developing safety programs to prevent unsafe conditions across facilities and processes.

Responsibilities include leading semi-annual safety audits, ensuring compliance with DCMA aircraft safety regulations, and supporting flight safety staff as needed in a high- pace aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Guide the successful completion of ground safety and occupational safety programs in a project leadership role
• Experience with fast paced high profile aircraft maintenance and manufacturing environments
• Strong project management skills
• BA/BS or MS in related field
• Good communications skills both written and oral
• Experience communicating across levels of an organization, functions and teams
• Military customer facing experience

Responsibilities

• Lead safety audits for the F-35 program at Edwards Air Force Base
• Develop safety programs to prevent unsafe environmental working conditions
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations
• Investigate industrial accidents and near-misses to minimize recurrence
• Lead hearing conservation, confined space, fall protection, LOTO and related safety programs
