Job summary

Lockheed Martin Corp. in Edwards AFB, CA, is seeking a Flying Qualities System Engineer to join the F-35 Flight Test team.

You will contribute to timely release of increased capability through effective test execution and collaboration with USAF leaders and LM engineers across sites. Responsibilities include developing test plans, participating in design reviews, and providing real-time monitoring during flight tests with a focus on flight sciences and control systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering or related STEM discipline.
• Demonstrated experience with MATLAB, Python, or SolidWorks.
• Knowledge of flight sciences, control law development, and control system analysis.
• Knowledge of F-35 specific systems, flight characteristics, and test programs.
• Aircraft Trim, Linearization, & Simulation (ATLAS) tool skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation for total systems.
• Develop performance test planning documentation and test cards for flight tests.
• Provide real-time control room monitoring for Flying Qualities during test execution.
• Coordinate with Flight Sciences Lead Engineer and cross-site teams on issues and milestones.
