Job summary

NWI Aerostructures in Nashville, TN is seeking four Tooling & Parts Inspectors to verify machined parts, tooling, and components meet specifications and GD&T standards.

Applicants should have a minimum of two years in dimensional inspection, machine-shop QC, or precision machining with a solid grounding in calipers, micrometers, and digital gauges. This is a dedicated quality inspection role, not CNC operation.

Qualifications

• At least two years of professional experience in precision manufacturing, machining, or dimensional inspection.
• Proven ability to work with close-tolerance components, tooling, or machined parts.
• Proficiency in interpreting engineering blueprints and technical inspection instructions.
• Solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
• Familiarity with precision measurement instruments like calipers and micrometers.
• Ability to compare physical measurements against strict dimensional tolerances.
• Basic computer skills, specifically with the Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to document nonconforming conditions and inspection results.

Responsibilities

• Verify components, tooling, and machined parts meet technical specifications.
• Use precision tools (digital gauges, calipers, micrometers) for data collection.
• Interpret blueprints and GD&T standards to guide inspection procedures.
• Assess material thickness and dimensional tolerances against requirements.
• Identify discrepancies and out-of-tolerance conditions early in the process.
• Record inspection findings and generate nonconformance reports.
• Collaborate with production staff to communicate results and resolve issues.
• Maintain documentation and utilize ERP systems per training.
• Follow established inspection protocols and quality procedures.
