Blue Origin is seeking a senior Control Lead to drive the design, analysis, and verification of advanced flight control systems for next-generation vehicles. You will lead the development of control laws for aerodynamic surfaces and oversee flap actuation models and simulations, ensuring safety and performance in challenging flight regimes.

The role requires deep expertise in flight dynamics, control theory, and leadership.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in design, development, and analysis of flight control systems.
• Demonstrated experience with flap actuation control systems.
• In-depth knowledge of hypersonic and transonic flight dynamics.
• Proficiency in MATLAB, Simulink, and other control system design tools.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of flight control systems and design/analysis of control laws for aerodynamic surfaces.
• Oversee models and simulations for flap actuation control systems.
• Perform analyses and trade studies for hypersonic reentry and transonic flight.
• Lead verification/validation through simulation, HIL testing, and flight testing.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of GNC engineers.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for full system integration.
• Maintain design specs, test plans, and analysis reports.
