Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to lead the architecture, development, integration, and qualification of spacecraft attitude-control actuators and momentum-management systems. You will own reaction wheel design, motor control, embedded software, and FPGA developments across the full lifecycle.

The role demands 15+ years in aerospace controls, deep expertise in MSIM/embedded hardware, and leadership across hardware, firmware, and software teams.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of direct experience designing, developing, testing, and deploying reaction wheel assemblies or similar spacecraft actuators.
  • Experience with control algorithms and real-time control systems for precision electromechanical systems.
  • Proficiency in embedded programming and firmware development for aerospace environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead system architecture, requirements, design, integration, test, and qualification of reaction wheels and momentum-control systems.
  • Develop and mature control algorithms for reaction wheel applications and fault handling.
  • Oversee FPGA design and implementation for motor-control and actuator systems and lead embedded flight software development.
