Blue Origin LLC in the United States seeks a Control Lead to develop and implement advanced control systems for our next-generation vehicles. You will lead the design, analysis, and verification of flight control systems with a focus on flap actuation control for reentry and transonic flight regimes.

This senior role requires deep knowledge of flight dynamics and control theory, hands-on leadership, and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to ensure safety, performance, and reliability.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in flight control system design, development, and analysis.
• Experience with flap actuation control systems.
• In-depth knowledge of hypersonic and transonic flight dynamics.
• Proficiency in MATLAB, Simulink, and other control tools.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• US citizenship or eligible for employment in the US.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of flight control systems and design/control laws for aerodynamic surfaces.
• Oversee models and simulations for flap actuation control systems.
• Conduct analyses and trade studies for hypersonic reentry and transonic performance.
• Lead verification and validation through simulation, HIL testing, and flight testing.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the GNC team.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate flight control with the vehicle.
• Develop and maintain design specs, test plans, and analysis reports.
