Job summary

Pratt & Whitney's Columbus Engine Center is seeking a Paint & Coating Technician to restore and protect jet engine components. In this hands-on role you will prepare, mask, blast, coat, and finish parts while complying with aerospace quality and safety standards.

This 1st shift position (Mon–Thu 5:00 am–3:30 pm) emphasizes precision work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with responsibilities including setup of blast booths, coating applications, inspections, and thorough documentation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1+ years of mechanical experience in manufacturing, maintenance, automotive, aviation, military, or related technical field.

Responsibilities

• Prepare jet engine components for coating through cleaning, masking, blasting, and surface preparation.
• Apply coatings and finishes per engineering specs and customer requirements.
• Set up and operate blast booths, spray equipment, and coating tools.
• Perform self and peer inspections to ensure coating quality and compliance.
• Inspect finished components, verify coating thickness, and troubleshoot defects.
• Document work and support Safety, Quality, and Delivery goals in a fast-paced environment.
