Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Technical/Vocational Certificate or Associate's Degree in Machining Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 5+ years hands-on CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with large-format or gantry-style CNC milling machines.
• Strong knowledge of CNC control systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate, set up, and monitor CNC milling machines, focusing on Zimmermann portal/gantry systems.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD/CAM files to determine machining requirements.
• Write, edit, and optimize CNC programs (G-code/M-code) for complex part geometries.
• Perform tool selection, tool changes, and offsets for dimensional accuracy.
• Conduct first-article inspections and in-process quality checks using precision measuring instruments.
• Identify and resolve machine faults, tooling issues, and program errors.
• Perform routine maintenance and coordinate with maintenance teams for servicing.
• Maintain accurate production records, inspection logs, and machine utilization reports.
• Adhere to health, safety, and environmental standards and procedures.
• Collaborate with engineers, quality teams, and production planners to meet delivery targets.
• Mentor and support junior CNC operators as needed.
