Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a CNC Setup Machinist to join a growing aerospace manufacturing team in Fridley, MN. You will set up, operate, and monitor CNC milling machines, perform offsets, and ensure parts meet strict quality standards in a climate-controlled shop.

The role involves reading blueprints, inspecting parts with precision tools, and supporting continuous improvement. A hands-on performer eager to advance in machining is ideal.

Qualifications

• CNC machining experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
• Experience with CNC mill setup, tool changes, offsets, and machine adjustments.
• Ability to use precision measuring equipment including micrometers and calipers.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machining processes.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, setup sheets, and production documentation.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC milling machines to manufacture precision aerospace components.
• Perform tool changes, offsets, and setup adjustments to maintain production efficiency and part quality.
• Load, unload, and handle machined components weighing 20-30 lbs safely throughout the shift.
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and work instructions to ensure accurate production.
• Inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments.
• Grind, debur, and finish machined components to meet quality standards.
• Monitor machine performance and identify machining issues, tool wear, or process deviations.
• Document production activity, inspections, and quality findings using computer systems and production travelers.
• Perform routine quality checks and maintain compliance with aerospace manufacturing standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all company safety procedures.
