Job summary

Howmet Aerospace in Winsted, CT is seeking an Aerospace Precision CNC Grinder/Mill Machinist. You will set up and run CNC grinding and milling on 3–4 axis VMCs and 5+ axis VMCs to manufacture tight-tolerance aerospace parts. Read blueprints, measure precisely, adjust tooling and offsets, and collaborate with Engineering to optimize grinding passes.

You will mentor teammates, share ideas for Kaizen improvements, and uphold safety and quality on every shift.

Qualifications

• Read blueprints and perform precision measurement to spec.
• Set up and operate CNC grinding and milling equipment.
• Interpret complex aerospace drawings and tolerances.
• Collaborate with Engineering to improve processes.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC grinding and CNC milling equipment (3–4 axis VMC and 5+ axis VMC).
• Machine complex, tight-tolerance aerospace components with unwavering quality.
• Read and interpret blueprints; perform precision measurement; adjust tooling and offsets.
• Partner with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Tool Room to elevate processes.
• Champion safety, quality, and teamwork on every job.
