Job summary

Howmet Aerospace in Winsted, CT is seeking an experienced Aerospace CNC Machinist to set up and operate high-precision grinding and milling equipment, read blueprints, and produce aerospace components to exact tolerances.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance and Tool Room teams to improve processes, uphold safety standards, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts in a growing, on-site aerospace shop.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED
• 3-5 years of related experience
• Experience with CNC machining, grinding, milling, or multi-axis equipment
• Strong blueprint reading and inspection skills
• Aerospace experience preferred but not required for strong machinists
• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC grinding and milling equipment.
• Machine high-precision aerospace components to demanding tolerances.
• Read blueprints, use precision measuring equipment, and make tooling/offset adjustments.
• Partner with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Tool Room teams to improve processes.
• Maintain the highest standards for safety, quality, and teamwork.
