SpaceX is seeking a CMM Source Inspector to travel up to 75% to supplier sites in Texas for visual and dimensional inspections of parts and assemblies. The role requires 3+ years in precision inspection, CMM programming and Romer Arm setup, with ASME Y14.5 and GD&T familiarity.

You will develop inspection plans, review certifications, and ensure parts meet SpaceX standards, collaborating across teams and stakeholders.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• 3+ years of precision mechanical inspection experience.
• 3+ years of CMM programming/operations or Faro Arm experience.
• Ability to travel up to 75% to supplier sites.

Mansioni

• Travel up to 75% to Texas for visual and dimensional inspections at supplier sites.
• Select and utilize standard gauges to ensure quality.
• Inspect feature tolerances by selecting the tool with required accuracy.
• Perform complex inspections on purchased mechanical parts, components, assemblies and materials.
• Review documentation and verify certifications, specifications, and conformance to design.
• Inspect flight hardware at the supplier according to drawings, PO and SpaceX specs.
• Ensure all parts meet SpaceX specs; document any non-conformances.
• Develop inspection plans at suppliers; support corrective actions.
• Provide support to internal and external stakeholders on SpaceX requirements.
• Collaborate with teams, lead projects, and drive process improvement.
• Program and set up Romer CMMs to achieve inspections.
