Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Source Inspector to travel up to 75% to supplier sites for visual and dimensional inspections of manufactured parts and assemblies. You will verify tolerances using CMMs, Romer arms, and standard gauges, while reviewing certifications to ensure conformance to drawings and SpaceX specifications.

The role requires 3+ years in precision inspection, CMM programming (PC-DMIS), and experience with AS9100/ISO 9001.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of precision mechanical inspection experience.
• Experience with CMM programming and Romer Arm.

Responsibilities

• Travel up to 75% to supplier sites to perform inspections.
• Use standard gauges to verify quality and tolerances.
• Inspect tolerances using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Review documentation and certifications for conformance.
• Inspect flight hardware per drawings, POs, and SpaceX specs.
• Ensure parts meet SpaceX standards or document non-conformances.
• Support inspection plans at suppliers.
• Assist supplier corrective action processes.
• Collaborate with teams and lead process improvements.
• Program and set up Romer Arm and CMMs for inspections.
• Provide QA support to internal/external stakeholders.
