Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a skilled Source Inspector to join our quality team in El Segundo, CA. The role requires frequent travel to supplier sites in the Chicago area to perform precision inspections of flight hardware using CMMs and Romer Arms.

You will read engineering drawings, verify tolerances with PC-DMIS and Verisurf, and help improve inspection plans. A strong background in AS9100/ISO 9001 and proficiency with metrology tools are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in precision mechanical inspection.
• 3+ years CMM programming or Faro Arm experience.
• Aerospace inspection experience preferred.
• Familiar with AS9100/ISO 9001 quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Travel up to 75% to supplier sites in Chicago area for visual and dimensional inspections.
• Select and utilize standard gauges to ensure quality and inspect tolerances.
• Program and set up CMMs and Romer Arm for inspections.
• Review documentation and certifications for conformance to design and specs.
• Support development of inspection plans and supplier corrective actions.
• Collaborate with teams to drive continuous improvement.
