Job summary

Sitreps in Portland, Oregon seeks a Chief of Staff to scale our program management and client/operations functions. This hybrid role reports to a partner and guides multi-program execution, ensuring alignment between engineering teams, clients, and business goals.

You will shadow senior leadership for about six months and then lead your own programs, driving trade decisions, schedules, and budgets to deliver on aerospace projects.

Qualifications

• Four to eight years of professional experience.
• Engineering undergraduate degree is a plus; graduate work with real analysis is good.
• Comfort discussing undergraduate physics concepts (e.g., torsion) in conversation.
• Ownership: fast, independent, capable of answering own questions.
• Ability to converse with business leaders as peers.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Run programs end to end, owning plan, schedule, budget, and client relationship with the Chief Engineer.
• Steer programs when plans change; make deliberate trade-offs instead of drift.
• Manage client expectations and frame requests around aircraft value.
• Push engineering to ensure proper scoping and sequencing.
• Pull program data, compare hours, and present a clear recommendation.
• Support capture and proposal work and grow into it.
• Improve operating cadence, templates, and SOPs for faster ramp of new programs.
