Job summary

Parker Hannifin Corporation, based in Irvine, CA, is seeking an experienced design engineer in the Military Flight Controls Division. The role focuses on drafting and 3D CAD work to design minor components and improve major systems, closely coordinating with engineering, manufacturing and planning teams.

Minimal five years of drafting experience, proficiency in GD&T and CATIA, and strong communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• Five years modeling and drafting experience or demonstrated ability to perform responsibilities.
• Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, ANSI Y14.5, and military drawing standards (DOD-STD-100).
• Proficient in 3D CAD; CATIA preferred.
• Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work well with others as a team player.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material and planning groups.
• Prepare original rough design concepts and layouts using 3D CAD software.
• Detail designs with basic manufacturing and assembly knowledge.
• Gather information and studies for drafting problems.
• Utilize specifications, reference data and vendor data to complete design tasks.
• Direct, assist and check detail and assembly drawings for production hardware.
• Perform tolerance studies and participate in design FMEAs.
• Efficiently use Product Lifecycle Management tools.
• Perform other related responsibilities.
