Job summary

Parker Hannifin is seeking a drafting professional to support the Military Flight Controls Division in Irvine, CA. You will work on drawing retrieval, change orders, and creating detailed 2D views from defined information, using 2D CAD/CAM tools.

Excellent communication helps coordinate with teams across engineering and manufacturing. The role emphasizes GD&T knowledge and CAD/CAM proficiency, with a background of one year drafting experience or coursework and strong interpersonal skills for

Qualifications

  • One-year related experience or one year of drafting courses.
  • Familiar with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Prior CAD/CAM experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Retrieve drawings and expedite changes through the authorization cycle.
  • Write and incorporate drawing changes and engineering change orders from marked-up blue prints.
  • Perform detail drafting, tracing, dimensioning and prepare simple sectional views.
  • Utilize a drafting board and a 2D CAD/CAM system.
  • Perform other related responsibilities.

Military Flight Controls Division Supporting aircraft worldwide, Parker Aerospace’s Military Flight Controls Division (MFCD) provides primary and secondary flight control systems that make flight possible. Tested, proven and trusted in commercial and military applications for decades, MFCD provides precise position-control actuation solutions for military aircraft across the United States and with foreign partners. The division’s Jet Pipe® electrohydraulic servo valve (EHSV) technology is used across commercial and military aircraft around the world. With direct supervision, responsible for incorporating drawing changes from well-defined instructions.

Responsibilities
  • Retrieve drawings and documents and expedite changes through the authorization cycle.
  • Write and incorporate drawing changes and engineering change orders working from marked up blue prints.
  • Perform detail drafting, tracing, dimensioning and prepare simple sectional views from well-defined information.
  • Utilize a drafting board as required and be familiar with a 2D CAD/CAM system.
  • Perform other related responsibilities.
Job Requirements
  • One-year related experience, or a minimum of one year college level drafting courses or demonstrated ability to perform described responsibilities.
  • Working familiarity of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and military standards for engineering drawings ANSI Y14.5, DOD-STD-100 and DOD-D1000.
  • Prior CAD/CAM experience preferred.
  • Familiar with manufacturing practices preferred.
  • Must demonstrate effective verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills.
Conditions of Employment

  • Pay Range: $20.94/hr to $34.89/hr
  • Participation in Annual Incentive Program
