Job summary

Parker Hannifin in Irvine, CA, seeks a design engineer to support the Military Flight Controls Division. You will design minor components and modify existing designs to improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations, under minimal supervision.

Responsibilities include coordinating design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material and planning groups; preparing rough concepts with 3D CAD; detailing designs; performing tolerance studies and design FMEA; and using PLM

Qualifications

  • Five years modeling and drafting experience with an AA degree in drafting or a certificate of completion of an engineering program from a trade school or demonstrated ability to perform described responsibilities.
  • Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, ANSI Y14.5, military standards for engineering drawings, DOD-STD-100 and DOD-D-1000, hydraulic principles, machine shop practices and proficient in the use of descriptive geometry and trigonometry.
  • Proficient in 3D CAD – CATIA preferred.
  • Must demonstrate effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.

  • Efficiently use Product Lifecycle Management tools.
  • Perform other related responsibilities.

Military Flight Controls Division

Supporting aircraft worldwide, Parker Aerospace’s Military Flight Controls Division (MFCD) provides primary and secondary flight control systems that make flight possible. Tested, proven and trusted in commercial and military applications for decades, MFCD provides precise position-control actuation solutions for military aircraft across the United States and with foreign partners. With minimum supervision, responsible for the design of minor components or portions of major functional systems and modifying existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations.

Job Requirements

Conditions of Employment

  • Pay Range: $30.42/hr to $50.71/hr
