Actalent is seeking a CAD Designer to create precise 2D and 3D models for aerospace components and deployable satellite systems using SolidWorks in a small, agile team. The role focuses on drafting, GD&T, and producing detailed drawings for space applications.

You will collaborate with engineering, maintain documentation, and support scaling satellite platforms and constellations from a base in Broomfield, CO. This contract position offers onsite work and competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Experience creating 2D/3D CAD models for aerospace components.
• Ability to apply GD&T to drawings.
• Experience drafting aerospace deployable systems.
• Strong attention to detail and quality documentation.
• Ability to translate requirements into CAD models from engineering.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate 2D and 3D models of aerospace components using SolidWorks.
• Produce detailed CAD drawings and documentation that meet standards.
• Apply GD&T to ensure fit and manufacturability of parts and assemblies.
• Support the design of deployable systems such as solar arrays and antennas for satellites.
• Create and update mechanical designs for rotating assemblies.
• Collaborate with engineering to translate requirements into CAD models.
• Review drawings based on feedback and design reviews.
• Maintain CAD files and documentation per internal standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of design practices in agile aerospace environment.
