Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a CAD & Design Specialist to work on the MK1 Lunar Lander within the Lunar Permanence unit. You will prepare layouts, release datasets, and support mechanical design for spacecraft structures and tubing, ensuring alignment with ASME Y14.5 and PLM standards.

The role requires an associate degree in CAD & Design and 2+ years in aerospace, with strong attention to detail and cross-functional collaboration. On-site role with competitive benefits and a focus on safe spaceflight.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in CAD & Design required.
  • 2+ years of experience in aerospace development or similar.
  • Proficiency in drawing generation and release processes using Creo Parametric and Windchill.
  • Proficiency in GD&T analysis (ASME Y14.5).
  • Experience managing large CAD assemblies, BOMs, ICMs, and skeletons.
  • Experience in designing spacecraft primary/secondary structures and mounting hardware.
  • Experience in cross-functional teams selecting materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail and task ownership; willingness to perform low-level tasks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing design layouts, creating detail parts and assemblies, and releasing datasets using CAD and PLM tools.
  • Reviewing engineering drawings to ensure alignment with specifications and standards.
  • Supporting engineering with mechanical layout and detail design for fluids parts and assemblies including tube routing.
  • Applying engineering techniques to plan, layout, and maintain data depicting designs.
  • Implementing standard methodologies to balance cost, schedule, and performance.
