Job summary

Blue Origin, based in Reston, VA, is seeking an experienced aerospace engineer to design, model, and manage component definitions and engineering drawings. You will apply Creo Parametric and Model Based Definition, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and GD&T, while coordinating with cross-functional teams to meet project timelines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in aerospace development or similar industry.
• Proficiency in design and integration using Creo Parametric.
• Proficiency in drawing generation, checking, and release processes.
• Experience in Windchill.
• Proficiency in Model Based Definition.
• Proficiency in standard fits, tolerance stacks, and GD&T analysis (ASME Y14.5).
• Experience selecting standard aerospace hardware, fasteners, bushings, washers.
• Experience working in a cross-functional team responsible for selecting materials, manufacturing processes, and developing the design to produce world-class engineered products.
• Excellent attention to detail and task ownership, willingness to perform low-level tasks when needed.
• Experience managing large CAD assemblies and associated drawings.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain component product definitions and data, including layouts and drawings.
• Develop engineering drawings and 3D models using Model Based Definition.
• Guide on schedule and technical requirements to internal customers.
• Collaborate across mechanical, structural, and electrical disciplines to meet specifications.
