Job summary

Blue Origin in Seattle, WA seeks an experienced CAD Drafter/Designer to translate engineering designs into precise 3D models and detailed drawings using Creo and Windchill. You will ensure GD&T compliance, maintain BOMs, and support ECR/ECO processes to enable manufacturability of launch vehicle structures.

You will collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams, update ICDs, and uphold Windchill PLM configuration control while interpreting sketches and ensuring dimensional accuracy.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience creating detailed drawings and models for aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicle structures.
• Proficiency with Creo (Pro/E) and Windchill 10.
• Strong understanding of GD&T principles and ASME Y14.5.
• Experience creating detail part drawings, assembly drawings, and installation drawings for metallic and/or composite structures.
• Familiarity with fastener callouts, weld symbols, and standard hardware representation.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to interpret engineering intent from sketches and models.

Responsibilities

• Translate engineering designs and sketches into detailed 3D models, drawings, and assemblies using Creo/Windchill.
• Create and maintain detail part drawings, assembly drawings, and installation drawings per ASME Y14.5 GD&T.
• Develop and update ICDs under the direction of design engineers.
• Perform basic tolerance stack-up checks and drawing reviews for manufacturability and accuracy.
• Support ECRs/ECOs by updating drawings, models, and documentation.
• Maintain configuration control and version management of CAD models and drawings in Windchill PLM.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve discrepancies.
• Support first-article inspection and production by clarifying intent and dimensional requirements.
• Ensure drawings comply with company standards, codes, and customer requirements.
• Assist in creating and maintaining BOMs for structural assemblies.
