Job summary

Pratt & Whitney in Middletown, CT seeks an experienced aerospace mechanic (2nd shift) to assemble, overhaul and test engine components on-site. The role requires an A&P license or equivalent, strong mechanical skills and a background in heavy automotive work.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with formal training achieving an A&P license or equivalent, or 5+ years of heavy automotive experience.
• 4 years of technical high school including post-high school certification.

Responsibilities

• Follow assembly drawings and specifications to prepare parts and build subassemblies for new gas turbine engines.
• Perform overhaul and repair procedures to service engines and components.
• Obtain parts, check details for conformance and measure components to spec.
• Use hand tools, holding fixtures, and assembly equipment to build engine sections and maintain tooling.
• Support test operations and assist with testing schedules under supervision.
• Assist with co-producer, customer support or retrofit projects and new engine programs.
