Job summary

RTX is hiring for a 2nd shift Certified Operator training opportunity in Wells, ME. The position starts with 4x10 hour shifts from 4PM to 2AM and leads to operator certification after on-the-job training. The role emphasizes learning machining and assembly processes for engine components in a large aerospace context.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• 1+ years of manufacturing, automotive or related trade experience preferred.
• Ability to perform decimal and fraction computations and manage priorities.

Responsibilities

• Learn to perform routine assembly operations on large sections of current engine designs and similar assemblies.
• Work from operation sheets, part travelers, BOROPS, and oral instruction to complete tasks.
• Verify conformance of finished work to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
• Obtain operator Certification to be able to accept/reject parts.
• Maintain machines by performing required total preventive maintenance (TPM).
• Collaborate with engineers, quality assurance, programmers and other production personnel to resolve assembly problems.
• Work instructions are written in English and used to guide daily activities.
