Job summary

Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Additive Manufacturing Engineering Lab is seeking an experienced leader to guide a high-performing engineering team. The role focuses on transitioning emerging AM materials and processes into production-ready, certifiable platforms for aerospace applications.

You will oversee two AM labs, drive cross-disciplinary collaboration, manage staffing and budgets, and provide engineering support to aero programs and external customers.

Qualifications

• Engineering or other technical bachelor's degree (STEM).
• ≥8 years of technical experience in metal and polymer additive manufacturing/3D printing technology, preferably in aerospace or defense.
• Demonstrated success in developing technology roadmaps and securing funding for R&D projects.
• Technical leadership capability within challenging technical, cost, and schedule constraints.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering team to develop technical roadmaps, secure research funding, and certify materials for tooling and flight hardware.
• Oversee operation, maintenance, safety compliance, and budgeting of two dedicated AM labs at separate facilities.
• Drive cross-disciplinary collaboration and communicate progress and issues to senior leadership and customers.
• Provide direct engineering support to aeronautics programs and external customers.
• Manage full-cycle staffing, personnel development, and continuous improvement of the lab workforce.
