Job summary

Moog Inc. in Torrance, CA is seeking an Assembly Technician II for the 2nd shift (2:00pm-10:30pm) to join our Military Aircraft Group.

You will perform precision assembly and testing of hydraulic and electromechanical actuators, reading blueprints and following strict specifications to ensure quality. The role requires at least a high school diploma or GED, 3+ years in aerospace assembly, and familiarity with precision measuring tools.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred; ability to understand and apply verbal, written, and computer work instructions in English.
Minimum 3 years of assembly experience (mechanical, hydraulic, electromechanical or electronic).
FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification is a plus.
FAA Safety Sensitive position; must meet FAA drug and alcohol testing requirements.
Ability to read blueprints and work with aerospace assemblies.
Experience with precision assembly and testing of hydraulic/mechanical actuators.
Experience using precision measuring equipment (dial indicators, calipers, micrometers).
Basic computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook).
Security clearance may be required.

Responsibilities

Perform precision assembly on complex production and repair actuators.
Adjust and align using shimming and specification limits.
Measure and verify with dial indicators, calipers and micrometers.
Maintain dimensional accuracy using torque wrenches, fixtures and gauges.
Conduct test operations on actuators using appropriate test equipment and fixtures.
Diagnose test failures and perform corrective actions as needed.
Document parts replaced and work performed on data sheets.
Ensure conformance with current revision letters and report anomalies to supervisor.
