Job Overview
Our team at Moog's Military Aircraft Group is looking for an Assembler Technician II on 1st shift (6:00am-2:30pm) to join them. You will report to the Assembly and Test Supervisor and will have an onsite work schedule in Torrance, CA.
Responsibilities
- Perform precision assembly on complex production and repair actuators.
- Adjust or align through shimming and other means of mechanical adjustments specified by blueprint or other specification limits.
- Utilize a variety of mechanical measuring equipment such as dial indicators, calipers and micrometers to obtain proper assembly-build requirements.
- Maintain dimensional accuracy on assemblies utilizing torque wrenches, fixtures, tooling, gages and other measuring devices.
- Perform various test operations on production or repair mechanical or hydraulic actuators using necessary hydraulic, mechanical, and electronic test equipment, fixtures and tools.
- Diagnose common test failures and recommend or perform rework to correct discrepancies.
- Hold problem units for engineering disposition.
- Ensure that units are set up and tested in conformance with current revision letters and bring to the Supervisor's attention any abnormal conditions.
- Responsible for testing repair models for conformance to acceptance test procedures.
- Utilize mechanical or electronic measuring equipment and perform tests to validate the acceptance of the model to current test requirements.
- Order parts as necessary utilizing the RUR and WDS systems, and document parts replaced and work performed on data sheets.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred; otherwise, demonstrated ability to understand and apply all verbal, written and computer work instructions or training in English, and demonstrated ability to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
- Minimum 3 years of assembly experience (mechanical, hydraulic, electromechanical or electronic).
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification is a plus.
- FAA safety-sensitive position; must meet FAA's drug and alcohol testing program requirements.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Assembly experience in the aerospace industry.
- Experience performing precision assembly and test of hydraulic, mechanical and electromechanical flight actuators.
- Experience with precision measuring equipment such as dial indicators, calipers and micrometers.
- Experience with diagnosing/troubleshooting mechanical components and test failures.
- Basic computer program skills (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Possess or be able to obtain security clearance.

Salary Range
28.00 - 36.00 Hourly
