Job summary

Moog Inc. is seeking an Assembly Technician II on the 2nd shift to join Moog's Military Aircraft Group in Torrance, CA. You will perform precision assembly and testing of flight actuators on an onsite schedule, reporting to the Assembly and Test Supervisor.

Requirements include at least 3 years in aerospace assembly, ability to read blueprints, and proficiency with precision measuring tools. FAA considerations and security clearance may apply; relocation assistance is not specified.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED preferred; ability to follow English instructions and perform basic math.
Minimum 3 years of assembly experience (mechanical, hydraulic, electromechanical or electronic).
FAA A&P certification is a plus.
FAA safety sensitive position; must meet FAA drug/alcohol testing requirements.
Ability to read blueprints.
Experience in aerospace assembly.
Experience with precision measuring equipment.
Basic computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook).
Possess or be able to obtain Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

Perform precision assembly on complex production and repair actuators.
Adjust or align through shimming and other mechanical adjustments.
Use measuring equipment to meet assembly specifications.
Maintain dimensional accuracy using torque wrenches and fixtures.
Test production or repair actuators with hydraulic, mechanical and electronic equipment.
Diagnose test failures and perform rework as needed.
Ensure conformance with revision letters and report abnormal conditions.
Document parts used and work performed on data sheets.
Order parts as necessary using RUR and WDS systems.
