Job summary

Moog in Torrance, CA is hiring an A&T Technician II for the 1st shift (6:00am-2:30pm) to assemble and test complex flight actuators on-site. Report to the Assembly and Test Supervisor in Moog's Military Aircraft Group, working with blueprints and precision measuring tools.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, 3+ years of assembly experience, and ability to read blueprints. FAA A&P certification is a plus; candidate must be able to obtain security clearance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred; ability to understand verbal, written and computer work instructions in English.
• Minimum 3 years of Assembly experience (mechanical, hydraulic, electromechanical or electronic).
• FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certification is a plus.
• FAA Safety Sensitive position; must meet FAA's drug and alcohol testing program requirements.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Assembly experience in the Aerospace industry.
• Experience performing precision assembly and test of hydraulic, mechanical and electromechanical flight actuators.
• Experience with precision measuring equipment such as dial indicators, calipers and micrometers.
• Experience with diagnosing/troubleshooting mechanical components and test failures.
• Basic computer program skills (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Possess or be able to obtain Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform precision assembly on complex production and repair actuators.
• Adjust or align through shimming and other means of mechanical adjustments specified by blueprint or other specification limits.
• Utilize measuring equipment such as dial indicators, calipers and micrometers to meet assembly requirements.
• Maintain dimensional accuracy on assemblies using torque wrenches, fixtures, gages and other measuring devices.
• Work from assembly instructions, both written and oral.
• Perform various test operations on production or repair actuators using hydraulic, mechanical and electronic test equipment.
• Diagnose common test failures and perform rework to correct discrepancies.
• Hold problem units for engineering disposition.
• Ensure units are tested per revision letters and report abnormalities to supervisor.
• Test models for conformance to acceptance test procedures and validate measuring equipment.
