Indianapolis, IN | Temp-to-Hire | All ShiftsCompensation: $27–$34 per hour (DOE) + shift differentialA day in your roleYou start your shift at a spotless Mazak 5-axis mill/turn, reviewing travelers and prints for a titanium ring, 52 inches in diameter. You load heat-shrink tooling, touch off with a probing cycle, dial in work and tool offsets, and single-block your way through a new program using distance-to-go to validate every motion. Mid-run, you verify critical features with precision metrology, tweak feeds to quiet chatter in Inconel, and collaborate with Programming to tighten a cycle. By shift end, you’ve delivered aerospace hardware that hits spec the first time, every time—safely and on schedule. What you will handleSet up and run large Mazak 5-axis mill/turn machining centersProduce precision aerospace parts 35\"–65\" in diameter in titanium, Inconel, stainless, and other alloysInterpret blueprints, routers, and manufacturing documentation to plan workEstablish work coordinates, home positions, and tool offsets with indicators and probingProve out new and existing CNC programs using single-block and distance-to-go verificationUse Haimer heat-shrink tooling and Speroni tool measurement systemsTroubleshoot, adjust, and optimize machining to maintain throughput and part qualityPartner with Engineering/Programming on process improvements and NPI activitiesComply with aerospace quality systems, procedures, and all safety requirementsKeep your cell organized, clean, and audit-readyHow success is measuredComplex setups completed right—the first time and on taktTight tolerances achieved consistently across materials and diametersDowntime minimized through fast, sound troubleshootingNew programs validated safely and efficientlySchedules met with zero-compromise qualityContinuous improvement ideas identified and implementedFlawless adherence to safety and quality standardsWhat you bring3–6+ years of CNC machining, including complex setup experienceFluency in reading blueprints, GD&T, routers, and manufacturing docsHands-on machining of titanium, Inconel, stainless, or similarly tough materialsStrong troubleshooting and root-cause skills; able to work with minimal supervisionProficiency with precision measurement and inspection toolsDeep understanding of machining principles and tight-tolerance manufacturingU.S. Citizenship requiredAble to lift at least 25 lbsWhere you’ll stand outMazak controls/machinery experience5-axis mill/turn background in aerospaceKnowledge of G and M codes; experience proving out new CNC programsFamiliarity with Haimer heat-shrink and Speroni presetting equipmentMachining Technology certificate or related trade credentialLean/Continuous Improvement experienceCore proficienciesCNC Tooling; CNC Machine Setup & ChangeoverTroubleshooting Skills; CNC ProgrammingCNC Machine Repair and InstallationPrecision Measurement & Hand MetrologyAdvanced Inspection & Gauge MeasurementAerospace ManufacturingMachine Setups for Production RunsEquipment & software you’ll useCNC Mill (3–4 axis VMC)CNC Mill (5+ axis VMC)CNC Lathe (2–4 axis) (Mazak)CNC Lathe (5+ axis)CNC Swiss LatheCAM SoftwareWhy PDS TechCompetitive, experience-based pay with shift differentialsTemp-to-hire path with long-term career potentialAll shifts available to match your scheduleWork with advanced 5-axis CNC technology on critical aerospace componentsStable, team-first culture focused on precision, innovation, and continuous improvementOpportunities to broaden your skills on industry-leading equipmentRegulatory noticeThis position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
