Job summary

Major Tool & Machine (MTM) in Indianapolis is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist for second or third shift to set up and run complex parts, interpret drawings, apply GD&T, and verify with precision metrology.

You will plan from prints, engineer robust workholding, adjust speeds and feeds, perform first‑article inspections, document results, and keep the work area safe and orderly in a high‑performance shop.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of trade school, vocational education, or apprenticeship.
• 3–5 years of CNC machining experience required.
• Blueprint reading, precision metrology, and GD&T proficiency.
• Proficiency with part and tool probing; high-speed machining experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings, sequencing, and tolerances to plan setups.
• Engineer robust workholding and set up fixtures as needed.
• Probe parts and tools, then refine speeds and feeds for accuracy.
• Document results and complete first‑article inspections for multi‑piece runs.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and communicate issues with peers.
