Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Aerospace-1st Article Inspector III for a direct hire opportunity in Valencia, CA. This role is ideal for a highly skilled inspection and metrology professional with strong experience in aerospace manufacturing, First Article Inspection, precision measurement, GD&T, and CMM programming. The Aerospace-1st Article Inspector III will play a key role in supporting quality, engineering, and manufacturing teams by performing advanced dimensional inspections, developing inspection methods, and ensuring products meet strict customer and engineering requirements. Key Responsibilities

• Perform advanced First Article Inspections and dimensional inspections using precision hand tools, CMM systems, optical comparators, Keyence equipment, and scanning technologies.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, and GD&T requirements to verify product conformance.
• Program, operate, and troubleshoot Hexagon CMM systems using PC-DMIS for standard and moderately complex inspection routines.
• Create, format, and review inspection reports and FAI documentation for accuracy, completeness, and traceability.
• Investigate dimensional nonconformances, support root cause analysis, and collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to resolve inspection issues.
• Provide technical guidance to Level 1 and Level 2 inspectors, including support with inspection methods, measurement strategy, and best practices.

Compensation and Benefits

• Direct hire opportunity.
• Pay range: $30.00 to $52.00 per hour.
• Location: Valencia, CA.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Perform complex First Article Inspections and dimensional inspections for aerospace components.
• Develop and modify PC-DMIS inspection routines to support production and FAI requirements.
• Review inspection data, resolve dimensional discrepancies, and support quality documentation.
• Provide technical inspection support and guidance to junior inspectors.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 4+ years of inspection, quality, or metrology experience required.
• Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, and GD&T requirements.
• Completed GD&T training course with demonstrated ability to apply GD&T concepts in inspection work.
• Experience with PC-DMIS, CMM operation, Keyence systems, optical comparators, and 3D scanning systems.
• Ability to select appropriate inspection methods based on part geometry, tolerances, and customer requirements.
• Strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, problem-solving ability, and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience performing First Article Inspections in aerospace and defense manufacturing environments.
• Experience with AS9102-style First Article Inspection documentation.
• Experience with Hexagon CMM systems, manual CMM operation, and DCC inspection methods.
• Ability to support fixture alignment, probe setup, measurement validation, and CMM rejection troubleshooting.
• Prior experience mentoring, training, or supporting junior inspectors.
