Job summary

AppleOne Employment Services is seeking an experienced Aerospace Quality Manager for a direct-hire role in Valencia, CA. You will lead the Quality organization, drive RCA/FMEA/SPC, and partner with operations, engineering, and supply chain to strengthen quality, build capability, and support customer confidence.

The position requires 5+ years in quality/manufacturing, 2+ years of people leadership, and a track record in regulated aerospace environments; AS9100/ISO9001 familiarity is preferred.

• 2+ years of successful people‑leadership experience, including developing supervisors, leads, or professional teams.
• Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or similarly complex operating environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Quality organization, including Quality Engineering, Inspection, CMM Programming, Calibration, Supplier Quality, and related functions.
• Establish quality goals, KPIs, operating rhythms, priorities, accountability, and resource plans to support manufacturing, new product introduction, and business growth.
• Drive improvements in customer quality, First Pass Yield, Cost of Poor Quality, scrap, rework, supplier performance, and corrective action effectiveness.
• Lead disciplined root cause analysis, corrective action, prevention, and problem‑solving efforts using tools such as RCCA, FMEA, and SPC.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Program Management, and executive leadership to resolve customer, operational, and quality issues.
• Support quality system compliance, management review, customer audits, certification audits, corrective actions, and applicable AS9100, ISO 9001, AS9102, NADCAP, ITAR, and DFARS requirements.

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary range: $140,000 to $200,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Lead quality operations across engineering, inspection, programming, calibration, supplier quality, and related manufacturing quality functions.
• Develop supervisors, leads, engineers, inspectors, programmers, and quality professionals through coaching, delegation, feedback, and performance accountability.
• Drive quality performance improvement through metrics, data analysis, RCCA, FMEA, SPC, corrective actions, and prevention‑focused problem solving.
• Manage customer quality concerns, escalations, audits, risk assessments, and cross‑functional improvement initiatives.
• 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in quality, manufacturing, engineering, operations, or a related field.
• 2+ years of successful people‑leadership experience, including developing supervisors, leads, or professional teams.
• Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or similarly complex operating environment.
• Demonstrated ability to build teams, develop leaders, establish accountability, and improve organizational performance.
• Proven success managing complex customer, operational, or quality issues.
• Experience using metrics and performance data to assess risk, manage teams, and drive continuous improvement.
• Strong understanding of root cause analysis and problem‑solving methods, including RCCA, FMEA, and SPC.
• Strong business judgment with the ability to balance customer expectations, quality requirements, operational needs, people considerations, risk, and business priorities.
• Excellent communication, relationship‑building, organization, conflict‑management, and decision‑making skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in aerospace, defense, precision manufacturing, or another highly regulated industry.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Working knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, AS9102, or comparable quality management systems.
• Familiarity with NADCAP, ITAR, DFARS, customer audit requirements, certification audits, and management review processes.
• Lean Six Sigma, ASQ, or related quality or continuous improvement certification.
