Job summary

L3Harris is seeking a dynamic Aero Thermal Fluids Specialist Engineer to join the ATF group at Canoga Park, CA. The role focuses on analyzing heat transfer, gas dynamics, nanostructured propulsion, and propulsion system performance for defense programs.

The candidate will use a mix of software tools and hand calculations to correlate models, review tests, and document results, while supporting verification tests and collaborating with designers and engineers. US Secret clearance may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience with thermodynamics, heat transfer and fluid dynamics.
• Proficiency in MATLAB, FORTRAN, Python or C++ is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform heat transfer and CFD analyses for space and defense systems.
• Develop and document analytical models and verification plans.
• Produce analysis and test reports for internal/external customers.
• Support propulsion system verification tests and collaborate with designers.
• Travel up to 5% for off-site testing if required.
