Job summary

AeroVironment seeks an Aeromechanical Engineer II to join an air vehicle IPT team for UAV systems. You will design from concept to production-ready, resolve design challenges, coordinate with multidisciplinary groups, and present results to stakeholders.

Required: BS in Mechanical/Aerospace, 2–5 years in design, proficiency with SolidWorks and MS Office, and knowledge of GD&T and testing. The role demands hands-on development in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering required.
• 2-5 years in technical/design capacity within an engineering org.
• Proficient in mechanical engineering processes and design/analysis tools.
• Experience designing machined, composite, injection molded, sheet metal parts, and wire assemblies.
• Experience with mechanical, lab, field, flight, and environmental testing.
• Understanding of configuration management processes.
• Understanding of metallic, plastic and composite properties.
• Experience solving structural dynamics problems.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of design/documentation standards (GD&T, ASME, Change Control).

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle design from initial concept to production-ready design.
• Resolve design challenges and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Conduct informal and formal presentations.
• Use engineering principles to assess deficiencies and impacts of changes.
• Complete tasks within project schedule and budget.
• Other duties as assigned.
